Fatal Motorcycle Accident Sunday – Santa Barbara, California. – A motorcyclist died after being seriously injured in an accident in Santa Barbara in mid-December.
James Miller, 57, of Santa Barbara, died Friday, Dec. 12, at a hospital, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department. 28, two weeks after the incident, he was sent to the hospital.

Miller was riding his motorcycle east on East Canon Perdido Street when he collided with a southbound BMW SUV at the intersection of Canon Perdido and Sanatorium Streets.

Miller was thrown more than 50 yards and his helmet was crushed. It was reported that he was not breathing when the police and medical teams arrived at the scene.
He was taken to the hospital where he stayed until his death. Investigators say her death was directly related to her injuries in the crash.
The investigation about the incident is ongoing. Alcohol or drugs are not considered a factor in the crash.
The Santa Barbara Police Department says traffic safety is a priority for the department, and the latest grant will help the city in its mission to enforce traffic laws and prevent DUIs. The police department also reminded motorcyclists that California law requires riders to wear a safety helmet approved by the Department of Transportation.
