If you’ve noticed lately that you’re no longer seeing posts from a certain person on your Instagram feed, it’s possible that they haven’t posted in a while — or they may have blocked you.
Instagram doesn’t notify you when you’ve been blocked, nor does it have a complete list of people who have blocked you to consult. However, if you suspect you’ve been blocked on Instagram, there are a few steps you can take to find out if you’ve been blocked.
How To See Who You’ve Requested To Follow On Instagram
Quick tip: In addition to finding out if you’ve been blocked, you can also find out who unfollowed you on Instagram.
Start by searching the app for the account you think is blocked. Tap the search icon at the bottom of the screen. Then enter the name of the account.
You can also do this search in your browser. Enter the link Instagram.com/username (of course, replace the word “username” with your Instagram handle).

If you see a page that says “Sorry, this page is unavailable,” the person has deleted their account or blocked you.
Instagram users can also be a bit more subtle. Someone can unfollow you – this means you won’t see your posts, but you’re not technically blocked. They can also silence you; Again, you won’t get blocked, but they won’t see your content in their feed and will have less reason to interact with you.
If the person has already commented on one of your posts, tap their username to open their profile. If it redirects you to their profile but you don’t see any details or you get a page that says “Sorry, this page is not available” then you’ve been blocked again.
Quick Tip: If you can’t comment on someone else’s posts, it doesn’t mean you’ve been blocked. Instead, it may mean that they have disabled comments on this post.

As with comments, if someone else blocks you, Instagram won’t delete any messages you’ve already exchanged. In fact, you can send new messages even if they are not delivered.
Click View Profile to go to the profile page. If there are no posts on their page and you see a short message that the user was not found, it probably means you’ve been blocked – although it could also be a sign that the person has deleted their account.

It’s also worth noting that if you can’t see a chat history with that person, it doesn’t always mean you’ve been blocked. In the past, Instagram faced a bug where messages were hidden. If you see this, it may be a similar software bug affecting your chats.
How To See Who Saved Your Instagram Posts

You have one last way to find out if they wanted to block you: ask your friend if they can still see the person’s account.
If they can’t either, here’s the silver lining: you’re not blocked. For example, the person may have deleted or temporarily deactivated their account.
If all the above fails, you should practice good social media etiquette – the person probably doesn’t want to interact with you, so respect that person’s privacy and don’t try to contact or block them.

Instagram will remove all your likes and comments on photo and video posts. You will not be able to tag or mention them in posts and comments.

Taking a screenshot (or screen recording) of an Instagram story, post, or reel usually doesn’t notify the creator.
Does Instagram Notify When You Screenshot?
There are some exceptions: when you take a screenshot of a conversation in Venice mode or a screenshot with a missing photo or video, Instagram will notify the sender of the message.
While Instagram previously alerted creators to Story screenshots, this will no longer be the case. It’s possible that Instagram’s screenshot reporting policy will change again, so it’s a good idea to double check.
If it’s important to you that no one secretly takes screenshots without your permission, you can hide your Instagram story from certain people so they can’t see it or take a screenshot.
Instagram will only notify you of a missing photo or video sent in a private DM thread or a screenshot of a Vanish Mode message. Instagram does not display screenshots of stories, posts, reels, persistent direct messages, or other content within the app.
How To See Who Unfollowed You On Instagram
If you take a screenshot in Venice mode, the message “[your username] took a screenshot” will appear in the conversation.

If you take a screenshot of a missing photo or video, a small circle will appear next to it for you and the other person.
If you want to save a picture or video without taking it, you can bookmark it. Find the post containing the image and click the bookmark icon. You can find it later by tapping the three-line menu and selecting Save.

Photos or videos you took with your camera are missing from the Instagram message window.
The message “disappears” because the other user can only see it once (or twice if you enable replay). Instagram will notify you if someone takes a picture of a missing DM.
Quick tip: On the other hand, when you send someone a photo or video from your phone’s camera roll, it’s not a disappearing message, so you won’t be notified if someone takes a screenshot.

You can also screen capture other live chat content—such as personal messages, chat history, and sent and received posts—without notifying the other person.
Although these methods prevent screenshot notifications, you should not use or share someone’s image, sensitive content, or personal information without their consent.
